LG Just Introduced the World’s First Native 1000Hz Gaming Monitor

By Brian k. Neal

LG Electronics is officially entering a new territory in competitive gaming hardware with the announcement of the UltraGear 25G590B — what the company calls the world’s first native 1000Hz Full HD gaming monitor.

Built around a 24.5-inch IPS panel, the monitor is designed specifically for esports and high-speed FPS titles where reaction time matters more than cinematic resolution. Unlike previous displays that reached 1000Hz through reduced resolutions or dual-mode switching, LG says this model delivers the refresh rate natively at full 1080p.

The monitor also includes:

  • Motion Blur Reduction Pro
  • AI Scene Optimization
  • AI-powered spatial audio features
  • NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility
  • AMD FreeSync Premium support
  • Low-reflection coating for tournament environments

Visually, LG keeps the design surprisingly restrained. The UltraGear avoids the oversized aggressive gamer aesthetic and instead leans toward a cleaner esports setup focused almost entirely on performance.

Whether players can actually feel the jump from 360Hz to 1000Hz will probably become the next major debate in competitive gaming. But the signal itself is clear:
gaming hardware companies are now competing at the level of human reaction speed.
