From Dunder Mifflin to the Toledo Truth Teller: Peacock Drops Trailer for The Office Spinoff, The Paper

By Kyra Greene

Peacock has dropped the first trailer for The Paper, an Office spinoff that asks the question: What if the employees at Dunder Mifflin got jobs with actual deadlines?

The series swaps Scranton’s paper-selling chaos for the Toledo Truth Teller—a historic Midwestern newspaper now so desperate for a revival, they’ve hired Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) to run it. The catch? His newsroom is staffed entirely by well-meaning, wildly underqualified journalists who have probably never used an AP Style Guide but can make a killer TikTok.

In the grand tradition of workplace disasters, the team is rounded out by Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key. And yes, Oscar Nuñez is back as Oscar Martinez. He’s still in the same universe, still unimpressed, and absolutely still refusing to be filmed—this time because “print journalism is a dying art” (his words, not ours).

The Paper premieres September 4 on Peacock. Watch the trailer and prepare for headlines that might not be fact-checked… but will definitely be funny.
