The highly anticipated new series, Dune: Prophecy, has just released its first official trailer, setting the stage for an epic journey into the far past of the Dune universe. Revealed during an electrifying panel at New York Comic Con, the trailer also confirmed the premiere date: Sunday, November 17. Fans can look forward to a six-episode season, with new episodes dropping weekly.
Dune: Prophecy is a prequel set 10,000 years before the events of Paul Atreides’ story (famously portrayed by Timothée Chalamet in Denis Villeneuve’s film adaptations). Drawing inspiration from Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel Sisterhood of Dune, the series dives into the origins of the Bene Gesserit, following two Harkonnen sisters as they navigate dangerous forces that threaten the future of humanity. Their journey will reveal how they lay the foundations for the mysterious and powerful order known as the Bene Gesserit.
The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, and Mark Strong, among others. They’ll be joined by a diverse lineup of talented actors including Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Jade Anouka, and Shalom Brune-Franklin, ensuring a dynamic and richly layered portrayal of the Dune universe.
With its intriguing plot and star-studded cast, Dune: Prophecy is poised to become a must-watch for fans of sci-fi and fantasy. Be sure to mark your calendars for the series premiere on Max this November 17.
