YouTube Explores AI Chatbot Integration Beneath Videos

In 2023, the tech industry saw a significant rise in AI chatbots, with the remarkable popularity of ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude, and the recent introduction of Elon Musk’s Grok bot for xAI.
YouTube has now joined the chatbot trend, becoming the latest platform to leverage this technology. According to a blog post from Google Support, the company is currently experimenting with an AI chatbot designed to appear beneath videos, inviting viewers to engage in conversations.
This “conversational AI” is tailored to answer questions related to the video being watched and provide recommendations for related content. Users will have the option to click an “Ask” button and enter their own questions or select from a list of suggested prompts.
YouTube explained, “For certain educational videos, the tool can enhance learning experiences by offering quizzes and responses that promote deeper comprehension.”
The conversational AI feature is currently in the beta testing stage and will initially be available to a limited group of users beneath videos. Following the beta, YouTube plans to introduce this feature to YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States.
