Sherrexcia “Rexy” Rolle, Esq. has been appointed as the President, CEO, and Accountable Manager of Western Air, the largest privately owned airline in The Bahamas, effective January 1st, 2024. This appointment marks a significant milestone as Rexy becomes one of the few women, comprising only 8% of airline CEOs. With over 15 years of experience in the airline industry, she has previously served as the VP of Operations & General Counsel for the past 9 years.

As an Aviation & Corporate Attorney specializing in airline operations, Rexy has played a pivotal role in Western Air’s development, overseeing its transition from turboprop to a uniform fleet of 9 Embraer ERJ 145- 50 seater jets. Under her leadership, the airline has successfully launched new routes, including its inaugural US route connecting Nassau and Fort Lauderdale. Rexy was instrumental in the establishment of the Western Air Freeport Passenger Terminal in 2015, and this year, she successfully reopened the rebuilt facility, navigating the airline through challenges such as Hurricane Dorian and the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chairman Rex Rolle expressed confidence in Rexy, stating, “Rexy is deeply committed to the service we offer passengers. She’s hands-on, overseeing the day-to-day operations and the legal & regulatory affairs of the airline. We are confident that she will continue to enhance and develop the Western Air experience for passengers.”

The role of President & CEO was previously held by Capt. Rex Rolle, who co-founded Western Air over 23 years ago. Capt. Rolle has now assumed the position of Chairman of the Board and will continue to contribute to the overall direction of the company. Rexy, reflecting on her new role, emphasized her focus on customers, operations, and the airline’s mission. Having witnessed the airline’s inception, she is keenly aware of its journey and sees untapped potential for future growth. Rexy emphasized the importance of customer-centric service, stating, “Customers matter most, and we are here to serve from check-in to landing and beyond.”

Rexy conveyed gratitude for her new role, acknowledging the hard work and commitment of the talented team at Western Air. She sees her position in the family business as an honor, stepping into a role her father served for a significant period. Western Air, with a commitment to safe, quality, affordable, and efficient air service, looks forward to continued growth and innovation under Rexy’s leadership, maintaining a customer-focused approach and a family-oriented business ethos.
