Valve Debuts Limited-Edition Steam Deck OLED: A Holiday Exclusive for Gaming Enthusiasts
By DaMarko Webster
Valve has launched a sleek, limited-edition “White” Steam Deck OLED, giving gamers a fresh aesthetic twist on its revolutionary handheld console. This release comes exactly a year after the debut of the OLED model, just in time to make it the ultimate holiday must-have for gaming aficionados.
Departing from the original Deck’s all-black design, the limited-edition model adopts a predominantly white finish, punctuated by subtle gray accents on the triggers, analog sticks, and buttons. The design is capped off with a striking orange power button, adding a bold pop of color to the otherwise monochrome look.
Under the hood, the “Limited Edition White” Steam Deck OLED mirrors the specs of the 1TB OLED model. Gamers can enjoy the upgraded 50Whr battery that offers a 3–12 hour runtime, depending on game intensity—a notable improvement over the LCD models. The device also boasts a 7.4-inch, 1280×800 HDR OLED display with anti-glare etched glass, delivering vivid visuals, deep blacks, and buttery-smooth gameplay with its 90Hz refresh rate.
The etched glass, exclusive to the 1TB OLED model, ensures minimal reflections, making outdoor or brightly lit gaming sessions more comfortable. Additionally, Wi-Fi 6E technology supports faster and more stable internet connectivity, enhancing cloud gaming and downloads while ensuring the console stays future-ready.
Valve has leaned into exclusivity with this release, bundling the console with a custom white carrying case, a white microfiber cleaning cloth, and a unique startup video and virtual keyboard theme. The box also includes a 45W power supply and an extended 2.5m (8.2ft) charging cable.
Valve has made it clear: once this edition sells out, it won’t return. To curb scalping, purchases are capped at one per Steam account, and only accounts with purchases made before November 2024 are eligible.
The “Limited Edition White” Steam Deck OLED is available now for $679 USD / £599 GBP / €719 EUR via Steam. Asian customers can snag their console through Komodo.
This chic new model marries Valve’s commitment to innovation with a touch of exclusivity, making it a standout gift—or self-gift—for the holidays. If you’ve been eyeing a Steam Deck upgrade, now might be the perfect time to act before this design disappears for good.
