Mugler Unveils Inside the Dream: A Documentary Exploring the French Fashion House’s 50th Anniversary

Mugler, a name that has dominated the intersection of fashion, fragrance, and fantasy since its founding in 1974, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the release of a brand-new documentary. Directed by Matthieu Menu and produced by Terminal 9, Inside the Dream: Mugler promises a captivating behind-the-scenes journey, chronicling iconic moments leading up to the French maison’s golden milestone, including the making of Casey Cadwallader’s Spring/Summer 2024 runway show.

Known for its unapologetically bold designs and otherworldly aesthetics, Mugler has long been a favorite of boundary-pushing icons like Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Dua Lipa. The brand’s unwavering commitment to empowerment and inclusivity has shaped not only the fashion world but also pop culture, solidifying Mugler as a cultural phenomenon.

Inside the Dream: Mugler offers an exclusive 60-minute window into the creative minds behind the brand’s most unforgettable moments. Through rare archive footage and intimate access to the Mugler team, the film showcases the meticulous work of Fashion Creative Director Casey Cadwallader, who has revitalized the brand while paying homage to its legendary founder, Manfred Thierry Mugler. Viewers will be treated to behind-the-scenes moments from Mugler’s major events, including backstage access to the brand’s Spring/Summer 2024 runway show and the iconic Angel and Alien fragrance campaigns featuring Hunter Schafer and Anok Yai.

The documentary also highlights Mugler’s enduring legacy of innovation, from Mugler’s groundbreaking work with the gourmand fragrance family to Cadwallader’s modern-day spectacles that continue to push the boundaries of fashion. Fans will even get a glimpse of Zendaya’s jaw-dropping recreation of the chrome robot from the Fall/Winter 1995-1996 Cirque d’Hiver collection, reimagined for her appearance at the premiere of Dune 2.

Inside the Dream: Mugler will premiere exclusively on Canal+ in France on September 25th, with global availability to follow on select platforms, including Prime Video.
