Michael B. Jordan Set to Direct and Star in New Thomas Crown Affair Remake

Michael B. Jordan is gearing up for his next big project, and this time he’s both behind and in front of the camera. According to Deadline, Jordan has officially signed on to direct and star in the latest remake of the iconic heist film The Thomas Crown Affair, produced by Amazon MGM Studios with plans for an exclusive theatrical release worldwide.
This will be the third adaptation of the classic film, following the 1999 version that featured Pierce Brosnan as a suave billionaire with a penchant for stealing art, and the 1968 original starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. In both iterations, the story revolves around a charming, thrill-seeking thief who matches wits—and sparks—with a determined investigator.
Jordan, whose production company Outlier Society is also involved, has reportedly been working on the project for some time. Fresh off the success of Creed III, which marked his directorial debut, Jordan is eager to dive back into the director’s chair. The screenplay for the remake is being handled by Drew Pearce, known for his work on The Fall Guy, which starred Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. Producers Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff are also attached to the film.
In addition to The Thomas Crown Affair, Jordan has several other high-profile projects on the horizon, including a rumored collaboration with longtime creative partner Ryan Coogler on a still-untitled Warner Bros. event film set to release in 2025. Fans of the actor-director have a lot to look forward to in the coming years.
