Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Remake Drops August 28

By DaMarko Webster
Konami has officially pulled back the curtain on Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, confirming its release date during Sony’s latest State of Play showcase. A full-fledged remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, this reimagining brings Hideo Kojima’s 2004 classic into the modern era with Unreal Engine 5-powered visuals, upgraded animations, and remastered audio that retains the original performances.
Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Snake Eater drops players back into the Cold War as Naked Snake, stealthing through dense Soviet jungles, taking on the legendary Boss, and facing the fearsome Cobra Unit.
Konami has confirmed the remake will feature both a modernized control scheme and a classic mode for purists who want that old-school MGS feel. Meanwhile, the game’s signature survival mechanics—camouflage, hunting, and injury treatment—have all been revamped for deeper immersion.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater launches on August 28, with pre-orders expected to go live soon. Get ready to CQC your way back to where it all began.
