In anticipation of this year’s European Football Championship, German luxury brand MCM has launched a striking capsule collection of ready-to-wear items that honor Munich, one of the host cities for the 2024 tournament, while also paying homage to the brand’s storied heritage in the sport.
The six-piece collection features a uniform-inspired top and shorts adorned with MCM’s iconic Lauretos iconography. It also includes backpacks and weekend bags with cut-out sections mimicking football designs. The range is complemented by leather hats featuring the brand’s classic logo and a specially designed football showcasing MCM’s timeless logo work. Additionally, MCM has crafted six unique backpacks representing the home nations of some of football’s most influential players, including Germany, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Korea, and Brazil.
The capsule’s launch is highlighted by a campaign starring Jonathan Tah, the formidable German defender for Bayer Leverkusen, the undefeated Bundesliga champions. Tah, a key player for the German national team, recently concluded a historic season with his team remaining unbeaten for 48 consecutive matches. Photographed in Düsseldorf by Davit Giorgadze and styled by Christian Stemmler, the campaign celebrates Tah’s remarkable achievements as he prepares for Euro 2024, set to kick off in Munich on June 14.
With this collection, MCM seamlessly blends luxury fashion with the dynamic world of football, offering fans and fashion enthusiasts alike a unique way to celebrate the sport and its cultural impact.
