In celebration of Black History Month this February, Marvel is placing Black creators and heroes at the forefront through an exciting array of BLACK HISTORY MONTH VARIANT COVERS.

Crafted by some of the industry’s most skilled artists, these visually captivating portrayals of beloved Marvel characters will adorn select issues throughout the month. The spotlight of this year’s collection shines on pop culture icons such as Captain America, Spider-Man, and Luke Cage, alongside cherished characters like Rocket Racer and Night Thrasher. Notably, Night Thrasher’s cover will be showcased on the inaugural edition of his highly anticipated ongoing series.

A special return awaits fans as one of the New Champions takes center stage. Marvel artists previously envisioned potential sidekicks for Marvel heroes in New Champions Variant Covers, introducing Ernanda Souza’s rendition of a young companion for Black Panther. Now, this character graces Dotun Akande’s Black History Month Variant Cover for BLACK PANTHER #9.

Excitement builds as Peach Momoko’s New Champion, Maystorm, gears up for a prominent role in the upcoming ULTIMATE X-MEN series. The question arises: Could this enigmatic young Wakandan hero be the next New Champion to emerge onto the pages of Marvel’s storytelling universe?
