Marvel Unveils First Trailer for New Animated Series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Marvel Studios has officially released the highly anticipated trailer for its upcoming animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Set to premiere on Disney+ on January 29, 2025, this fresh take on the web-slinger offers a twist on the classic Spider-Man story. The series unfolds in a parallel timeline where Peter Parker is mentored by none other than Norman Osborn—the man who, in the primary universe, becomes Spider-Man’s archenemy, the Green Goblin. This contrasts with the MCU films, where Peter is guided by Tony Stark.

The trailer showcases a vibrant introduction to this alternate universe, revealing two striking new Spider-Man suits. The first is a makeshift outfit crafted by Peter himself, while the second is a sleek, modern design featuring a bold black-and-white color palette. Fans get a taste of the high-octane action as Spider-Man busts criminals, livestreams his heroic escapades, and creatively uses his web-slinging skills to ensnare societal menaces.

In one standout moment, Peter breaks the fourth wall, telling the audience, “Just consider it a good deed from your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. That’s me, by the way. I am Spider-Man.”

Hudson Thames lends his voice to Peter Parker, joined by Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May and Hugh Dancy as Doctor Octopus. Excitingly, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their iconic roles as Daredevil and Kingpin, respectively, from Netflix’s Daredevil. Paul F. Tompkins joins the cast as The Wizard, adding a new layer of intrigue to the series.

The Spider-Man franchise has consistently been a powerhouse for Marvel, especially since Tom Holland’s portrayal reinvigorated the character in the MCU. This animated adaptation is led by a seasoned team of executive producers, including Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, and Jeff Trammell. Trammell also serves as head writer, with Mel Zwyer as supervising director.
