LG Turns Up the Culture: Radio+ Gets a Global Music Overhaul

By DaMarko Webster
LG Electronics is dialing its entertainment ecosystem into a higher frequency with a major evolution of LG Radio+, powered by a new partnership with global music curator Stingray Music. Rolling out on LG Smart TVs running webOS 6.0 and above across the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Korea, the revamped service now offers more than 200 curated channels and access to hundreds of thousands of songs—all free and fully integrated into the LG Content Store, Apps and Music Portal. The upgrade isn’t just a fresh coat of UI paint; it’s a complete rethinking of how users discover, explore and immerse themselves in audio. The redesigned interface blends simplicity with sophistication, making it easy to move between music, podcasts, live radio and curated playlists in a way that feels fluid and modern.
Stingray Music’s global curation gives LG Radio+ a true sense of place, offering listeners across multiple countries exclusive access to regionally tailored soundtracks shaped by music experts. In the U.S., the lineup stretches from chart-ready energy on Today’s Pop and nostalgia-driven Greatest Hits to Country Classics and the wanderlust blend of Americana Road Trip. Meanwhile, UK listeners get a mix of Greatest Hits UK, Love Songs UK and Kids Hits UK—hitmakers, romantic staples and family favorites all housed under one free platform. Germany’s selection covers contemporary pop, Schlager and the warm textures of Kuschelsongs, while Korea continues to ride the global wave of K-pop dominance with channels like K-Pop Summer Hits, Idols, Hot 100 Korea and Korean Ballads. Importantly, Stingray updates channels like Today’s K-pop every week, and any major artist release is added to the platform the moment it drops. The result is an always-current soundscape that resonates with young fans, audiophiles and casual listeners alike.
Both companies see this partnership as a moment that blends culture, accessibility and technological design. “LG’s Radio+ is setting a new bar for engaging customer experiences, and we at Stingray are thrilled to expand our collaboration,” said Jim Riley, President of Stingray Music USA. For LG, the goal is clear: expand what free streaming can be on a smart TV. “Our partnership with industry leader Stingray will bring LG TV owners a wealth of free content,” said Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center.
Beyond content, LG is sharpening the listening experience with platform-level audio enhancements. AI Sound Pro uses deep learning to automatically optimize audio depending on genre and environment, boosting immersion whether you’re listening to a cinematic ballad or a bass-heavy pop track. Clear Voice Pro, on the other hand, ensures that podcasts, interviews and talk shows maintain crisp, intelligible dialogue—a subtle yet meaningful detail for listeners who multitask between entertainment and information.
The new LG Radio+ interface ties everything together with a cleaner, more streamlined structure. Music, podcasts, live radio and playlists live side by side, and navigation is guided by a simplified side menu with quick access to Home, Music, On-Air and Podcasts. A dedicated Favorites page helps users lock in their preferred channels, while the overall aesthetic—minimal, sleek, unfussy—makes browsing feel fast and intuitive. It’s designed for the modern viewer who wants frictionless exploration and quick access to sound that fits every moment.
With this upgrade, LG Radio+ isn’t just another free audio app; it’s shaping itself into a global listening destination. A platform where cultural discovery, sharp design and effortless access meet—perfectly aligned with the way today’s audiences engage with music, mood and identity across borders.
