LG Brings 6K Clarity and Thunderbolt 5 Speed to the Creative Workspace

By DaMarko Webster
LG Electronics has introduced the UltraFine evo 6K (model 32U990A) — the world’s first 6K monitor with Thunderbolt™ 5 connectivity, built for professional editors, designers, and creators who demand both speed and precision. The 32-inch display delivers a stunning 6,144 x 3,456 resolution with a 224-ppi density, offering razor-sharp detail and text clarity. Covering 98% of DCI-P3 and 99.5% of Adobe RGB, it ensures cinematic color accuracy, while VESA DisplayHDR™ 600 certification maintains consistent brightness and tonal balance for high-end visual work.
Already the recipient of a CES 2025 Innovation Award and an iF Design Award, the UltraFine evo 6K continues LG’s legacy of professional-grade displays tailored for Mac users, now enhanced with faster data speeds and greater creative flexibility. Thunderbolt™ 5 delivers up to 120 Gbps unidirectional bandwidth—three times faster than Thunderbolt 4—enabling real-time 4K rendering, rapid 8K RAW file transfers, and effortless AI-powered editing. Dual 6K setups expand the workspace to nearly five times that of a 4K monitor, with easy daisy-chain connectivity for multi-screen workflows.
Designed as a creative hub, the 32U990A integrates built-in KVM switching, allowing seamless control across Mac and Windows systems, while multiple ports support SSDs, eGPUs, and mobile devices. Its 4-side Virtually Borderless design and ergonomic tilt-and-pivot adjustments suit both cinematic and vertical-format production, from film editing to social content creation.
“With many video editors now managing high-volume, multi-project workflows, the need for ultra-high-resolution displays with precise color and fast connectivity has never been greater,” said YS Lee, head of LG’s IT Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “The new UltraFine evo 6K is a future-proof display of uncompromising quality—helping professional creators work faster, smarter, and deliver their best results.”
