In a dazzling move, Gucci has appointed BTS’ Jin, also known as Kim Seok-jin, as its latest global ambassador. Jin now joins an illustrious roster of Korean stars aligned with the iconic fashion brand, including Hanni of NewJeans, Lee Jung Jae, Park Gyu Young, and Jay Park.
Sabato de Sarno, Gucci’s creative director, lauded the 31-year-old artist’s exceptional talent and his unique ability to resonate with audiences worldwide. De Sarno emphasized that Gucci is honored to embark on this journey with Jin, whose affinity for the brand is well-documented through his past sartorial choices. Jin’s new role comes as Gucci continues to deepen its relationship with South Korea, underscored by the upcoming “Gucci Cultural Month” in Seoul starting October 15th. This initiative will honor Korea’s rich cultural legacy by spotlighting luminaries such as conceptual artist Kimsooja, filmmaker Chan Wook Park, contemporary dancer Eun Me Ahn, and pianist Seong Jin Cho. The celebration aims to highlight their contributions to elevating Korean art on a global platform.Since their debut in 2013, BTS has been a driving force behind the global K-pop phenomenon, earning numerous accolades and topping charts worldwide.
