Hodinkee and Porsche Design Join Forces for Limited-Edition Chronograph 1
In an exciting new collaboration, Hodinkee and Porsche Design have unveiled a limited-edition Chronograph 1, marking their first partnership. This timepiece, a modern homage to F.A. Porsche’s original Chronograph 1, boasts updated specifications and a refined design tailored for contemporary watch enthusiasts.
The new Chronograph 1 retains several design elements from the original, including the iconic logo and the distinctive “H” lettering at 6 o’clock in the classic 1972 Porsche Design Red. Encased in titanium, the watch features a 40.8mm case diameter and a matching bracelet with a sleek black titanium carbide coating.
Incorporating nods to Hodinkee’s heritage, the watch includes a “1 Mile” graphic rehaut, hinting at the company’s U.S. roots, and a day display window that alternates between English and Japanese as a tribute to Hodinkee’s first international publication, Hodinkee Japan.
Under the hood, the watch is powered by Porsche Design’s COSC-certified WERK 01.140 movement, offering approximately 48 hours of power reserve. Limited to just 350 pieces, each unit of the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – Hodinkee 2024 Edition is priced at $9,650 USD, making it a coveted collector’s item for both watch aficionados and Porsche enthusiasts.
