EA Launches F1® 25 with New Story Mode, My Team Upgrades, and Hollywood Tie-In

Electronic Arts Inc. has officially dropped F1® 25, the newest entry in its Formula 1 racing franchise, now available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship™, this installment ramps up narrative immersion and customization options for both longtime fans and new players.
A standout feature this year is the expanded My Team 2.0 mode, which puts players in the driver’s seat not just behind the wheel, but at the helm of an entire racing organization. From engineering and personnel to corporate decisions, you’re managing both team and driver trajectories, and you can even switch between drivers during race weekends.
Also making a return is the fan-favorite story mode, Braking Point, now in its third installment. Spanning two intense seasons, the campaign dives into a dramatic twist that could derail a championship run. For the first time, players will experience multiple driver perspectives and alternate story endings, adding depth and replayability.
Adding a blockbuster touch, F1® 25 includes a preview chapter featuring APXGP, the fictional team from Apple Original Films’ F1® THE MOVIE. More movie-inspired chapter scenarios will be released post-launch starting June 30 via paid DLC.
To celebrate launch day, F1® 25 Iconic Edition cover star Lewis Hamilton faced off with fellow EA SPORTS legend Kylian Mbappé in a sprint challenge, setting the tone for a summer of high-octane competition leading up to the FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2025.
“F1 25 delivers more ways for players to tell their F1 story,” said Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. “From chasing the World Championship to immersing in a blockbuster racing narrative, it’s built to give players every kind of adrenaline hit they crave.“
Players can also take advantage of F1® World, a hub packed with bite-sized challenges, new multiplayer options, co-op play, and enhanced vehicle customization. The all-new Decal Editor lets players design bespoke liveries using fictional in-game sponsor branding, while updated fonts, colors, and design tools give driver numbers and cars a fresh, customizable edge.
On the realism front, EA has pulled out all the stops. Five new circuits—Bahrain, Miami, Melbourne, Suzuka, and Imola—have been laser-scanned using LIDAR technology during actual race weekends, delivering incredible visual accuracy right down to the curb height and foliage placement. The physics engine has also been updated, with input from esports professionals and the F1® community ensuring every bump and elevation shift feels true to life.
EA Play members get a 5-hour trial, monthly XP boosts, and 10% savings on digital content, including DLC and PitCoin. Meanwhile, F1® 25 Iconic Edition owners will unlock exclusive perks tied to F1® THE MOVIE producer Lewis Hamilton, including the F3™ Driver Icons Pack, 18,000 PitCoin, and more.
For fans of the sport, the series, or the spectacle, F1® 25 is a high-speed blend of innovation, drama, and cinematic flair. Whether you’re gunning for pole position or managing a rising team through championship chaos, this is Formula 1 reimagined for the modern gamer.
