Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Drops Stunning New Trailer, Release Date, and Collector’s Details

Hideo Kojima is back with another cryptic, cinematic mind-bender. At PlayStation’s special SXSW panel, the legendary game designer unveiled a brand-new, 10-minute trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach — the direct sequel to 2019’s genre-defying Death Stranding.

The trailer delivers exactly what Kojima fans crave: surreal storytelling, jaw-dropping visuals, mysterious new characters, and an atmosphere thick with dread and wonder. It also confirms the game’s official release date, pushing anticipation into overdrive.

This time around, the narrative digs even deeper into Kojima’s signature theme of “connection,” guiding players through uncharted territory in a story that promises to challenge our understanding of relationships, identity, and reality itself. As if the visuals weren’t enough, the trailer also debuts “To The Wilder,” an atmospheric new track by Woodkid that perfectly scores the eerie and epic vibe of the game.

For die-hard fans, the Collector’s Edition is stacked: priced at $230 USD, it includes the full digital game with 48-hour early access, a 15-inch Magellan Man statue, a 3-inch Dollman figurine, exclusive art cards, a letter from Kojima himself, and a set of in-game goodies. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes in at $80 USD with early access and several bonus items as well.

Those looking for just the base experience can grab the Digital Standard Edition for $70 USD. No matter which edition you choose, all pre-orders come with extra digital bonuses, including a Quokka Hologram and silver variants of the Battle Skeleton, Boost Skeleton, and Bokka Skeleton.

Strap in — Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is shaping up to be another unforgettable journey into the unknown.
