Cowboy Carter Couture: Beyoncé Scores Her First Emmy

By Kyra Greene
Beyoncé just added another crown to her collection—this time an Emmy. The superstar earned her first Emmy Award for Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming, thanks to her jaw-dropping work on Netflix’s Beyoncé Bowl.
The award celebrates Beyoncé alongside costume designer Shiona Turini, assistant designers Erica Rice and Molly Peters, costume supervisor Chelsea Staebell, and head of workroom Timothy White. Together, they brought the Western-inspired vision of Cowboy Carter to life, fusing rodeo aesthetics with Black Southern cultural heritage in a series of unforgettable looks.
Airing as a Christmas Day NFL halftime special, Beyoncé Bowl was part concert, part cultural statement—and part fashion show. From fringed jackets to intricately layered ensembles, each outfit commanded attention, transforming the stage into a sartorial celebration of Beyoncé’s artistry.
This Emmy win marks a major milestone for the 35-time Grammy winner, bringing her halfway to EGOT status. After more than a decade of Emmy nominations, Beyoncé has officially claimed her first trophy. Beyoncé Bowl is also up for Variety Special and Directing, with Beyoncé competing in the latter against her husband, JAY-Z. The Creative Arts Emmys ceremony will unveil these winners this September.
Beyoncé’s leap from Grammys to Emmys proves that when it comes to music, performance, and style, she’s always setting the bar higher.
