The Board of Trustees at Clark Atlanta University has recently granted approval to a new five-year strategic plan, titled “Destination 2028 (2023-2028).” This plan serves as the university’s roadmap for charting its future course, with a primary focus on ensuring sustainability and the long-term well-being of the institution. A key feature of this plan is its intention to bring about a transformative shift, ultimately yielding positive and groundbreaking outcomes by reshaping the university’s organizational culture and mindset.

Dr. George T. French, President of Clark Atlanta University, expressed, “We are embarking on a new vision for Clark Atlanta University that will rally around both immediate and enduring foundational objectives. The CAU Administration, in collaboration with our Board of Trustees, has pinpointed pressing issues that require attention to fortify our institution. This transformative shift places continuous emphasis on our mission and our goal of providing our students with life-changing educational experiences and meaningful engagement. I eagerly anticipate the collective vision of the Board, Administration, Faculty, Staff, students, and alumni as we work towards realizing Destination 2028.”

Destination 2028 will serve as a guiding force in Clark Atlanta University’s mission to profoundly impact students’ lives and prepare them for the future. To achieve these objectives, the plan will be anchored in four strategic pillars:

  1. Student Transformation
  2. Academic Transformation
  3. Institutional Transformation
  4. Financial Transformation

Over the course of the next five years, this strategic plan will help shape the university’s culture, usher in new resources for students, and significantly elevate the university’s brand and identity.
