Carl Friedrik Unveils the Sonder Collection: A Sleek Line of Soft Leather Travel Bags

London-based luxury travel brand Carl Friedrik has introduced a new collection of soft leather bags just in time for spring.

Named Sonder, the collection features three elegantly crafted styles designed for the modern, style-conscious traveler: the Ayrton Backpack, Dunloe Briefcase, and Granville Weekender. Described as an “initial launch,” the lineup hints at potential future additions to the range.

True to Carl Friedrik’s signature minimalist aesthetic, each piece is designed with both form and function in mind. The Ayrton Backpack is a refined everyday companion, offering a streamlined two-pocket layout with a dedicated sleeve for a 16-inch laptop. The Dunloe Briefcase, made from supple full-grain leather, features magnetic exterior pockets, an internal zippered compartment, and its own laptop section for seamless organization. Rounding out the collection, the Granville Weekender boasts an impressive 33-liter capacity, making it the ideal choice for a long weekend getaway. All three styles include an Integrated Smart Holder, allowing for easy attachment to cabin luggage handles.

The Sonder collection is crafted from premium materials Carl Friedrik enthusiasts have come to expect—soft yet durable full-grain textured leather for the main body, accented with vachetta leather details for a refined touch.

According to Mattis Oppermann, co-founder of Carl Friedrik, the new range sits “at the intersection of contemporary and classic, marrying traditional design cues with practical innovations for the modern urbanite, whose day might well include travel for work, gym, and evening leisure activities.”
