Campbell Addy to Be Honored with Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at The Fashion Awards 2023

Campbell Addy, the accomplished British-Ghanaian photographer, director, and publisher, is slated to receive the prestigious Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator at The Fashion Awards 2023, presented by Pandora. This esteemed event, orchestrated by the British Fashion Council (BFC), is scheduled for Monday, December 4th, at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London, celebrating the fusion of fashion with culture and entertainment.
Renowned for his compelling and diverse portrayal of Black and queer identities, Addy stands out as one of the most sought-after photographers in the fashion industry. His impactful work has graced the pages of prominent publications, including Dazed, i-D, Rolling Stone Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, TIME, and Vogue. Noteworthy figures such as Beyoncé, Edward Enninful OBE, FKA Twigs, Naomi Campbell, and Tyler, the Creator have been captured through his lens.
His artistic footprint extends globally, with exhibitions in London, Paris, Melbourne, New York, and Oslo showcasing his body of work. In 2016, Addy launched two significant platforms — Nii Journal, an arts and culture publication, and Nii Agency, a modeling and casting agency — both dedicated to spotlighting underrepresented faces. The year 2017 saw his inaugural solo exhibition, “Matthew 7:7,” at KK Outlet, delving into the complexity of his sexuality and upbringing.
Further establishing his mark, Addy’s work was featured at Somerset House for the Get Up Stand Up Now exhibition in 2019, commemorating 50 years of Black creativity. In April 2022, he released his monograph, “Feeling Seen,” showcasing pivotal images that shaped his career, with a foreword by British Vogue’s Edward Enninful OBE. Recently collaborating with 180 Studios, he presented his first solo exhibition, “I ❤ Campbell,” reflecting on his journey and inspirations through 36 original pieces, spanning images, paintings, and a short film shot in Ghana.
The Fashion Awards 2023 will pay tribute to Campbell Addy for his remarkable contributions to fashion, photography, and culture. Joining the esteemed ranks of previous Isabella Blow Award winners, including Edward Enninful OBE, IB Kamara, Katie Grand, Lady Amanda Harlech, Mert & Marcus, Nick Knight OBE, Pat McGrath, Professor Louise Wilson OBE, and Sam McKnight, Addy’s recognition underscores his profound impact on the industry.
