Roku is poised to enhance its TV home screens through a fresh collaboration with the NBA, introducing a dedicated ad-supported basketball channel and an NBA Zone for instant game access, highlights, and more.
In a recent blog post, Roku unveiled its new NBA channel, officially launching today. Users can easily access a variety of basketball content via the Roku Channel, which will house the inaugural NBA FAST for convenient viewing.
This new sports hub on Roku offers a plethora of highlights, original series, interviews, classic games, recaps, and documentaries. As part of the partnership, Roku will exclusively broadcast 40 live NBA G League games nationally during the 2024-2025 season.
The NBA Zone provides basketball enthusiasts with the latest news and highlights from their favorite teams, ensuring they stay informed on all the action directly from their Roku Plus Series 4K QLED TV or Roku Streaming Stick 4K.
Dubbed NBA FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV), Roku’s new channel is set to become the go-to destination for major league basketball fans, offering a wealth of NBA-related content. However, this NBA home will only be accessible for a limited time, although Roku hasn’t specified the duration.
While NBA FAST won’t feature live game broadcasts, it will offer a diverse range of basketball experiences, including original series, classic games, highlights, recaps, documentaries, studio shows, and interviews. Accessible via the Roku Channel App or the Live TV Channel Guide on Roku smart TVs, NBA FAST is available for exploration starting today.
NBA Zone similarly serves as a hub for NBA fans on Roku TVs, allowing users to select their favorite teams and receive the latest news and highlights directly on their home screen. Additionally, users can purchase NBA League Pass, a premium broadcast subscription service, through NBA Zone, with integration of the NBA App into Roku’s new basketball hub.
