Terrence Howard Enlists in Peacock’s Limited Series ‘Fight Night’ Based on Muhammad Ali

Terrence Howard is gearing up to join forces with Kevin Hart and Samuel L. Jackson in the upcoming Peacock limited series, “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.” Reuniting with director Craig Brewer, who will helm and executive produce the initial two episodes, this collaboration marks a return to their previous partnership on the 2005 film “Hustle & Flow,” which earned Howard an Oscar nomination, and the Fox series “Empire,” where Brewer served as director-producer.

Howard’s return to Peacock follows his recent appearance in the streaming platform’s successful limited series, “The Best Man: The Final Chapters,” the first original from Peacock to break into Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming rankings. “Fight Night” delves into the infamous tale of an armed robbery that took place during Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight, altering not only one man’s fate but the destiny of an entire city. In the series, Howard will take on the recurring role of Richard “Cadillac” Wheeler, a gangster and associate of the Council of 12.

The creative force behind “Fight Night” comes from Shaye Ogbonna, who adapted the series from the eponymous podcast produced by iHeartPodcasts, Doghouse Pictures, and Will Packer Media. Showrunners Shaye Ogbonna and Jason Horwitch lead the production, joined by executive producers Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, and Mike Stein for Hart’s Hartbeat, Will Packer and Sabrina Wind for Will Packer Media, Conal Byrne, Will Pearson, and Carrie Lieberman for iHeartPodcasts, and Jeff Keating and Lars Jacobson. Additionally, co-executive producers include Tiffany Brown from Hartbeat and Kenny Burns from Studio 43. The series is brought to audiences by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
