Grand Marnier and Teezo Touchdown Celebrate 50 Years of Hip-Hop with Festive “(W)rapping Paper” Initiative
By Kyra Greene
Grand Marnier is commemorating 50 years of hip-hop in style this festive season. The renowned cognac and orange liqueur brand has collaborated with the dynamic rock and rap artist Teezo Touchdown and the upscale gifting company UNWRP for its festive initiative, the “(W)rapping Paper” Program. In the spirit of spreading joy and celebrating hip-hop’s iconic moments, Grand Marnier is introducing a specially crafted wrapping paper, engaging “(w)rap” content, and an exclusive cocktail kit to kick off your holiday festivities.
A distinctive artist in his own right, Teezo Touchdown fuses grunge pop, punk, R&B, and Texas-style rap, showcasing his eclectic taste in music and fashion. Grand Marnier selected the rapper and singer to infuse his unique charisma and style into the custom wrapping paper, a creation designed by the black-owned small business UNWRP. Founded in 2017 by multidisciplinary designer Ashley L. Fouyolle, UNWRP is a hub for all things related to gifting, offering artful wrapping papers and assorted stationery for memorable gifting experiences through intentional and impactful design.
Grand Marnier’s holiday wrapping paper features graphics depicting vintage sound equipment such as boomboxes, turntables, cassette tapes, and CD players alongside contemporary music devices, paying homage to the evolution of hip-hop and music history. Collaborating with Teezo, the brand has also crafted a remixed version of its Grand Margarita, exclusively available on Cocktail Courier for a limited time. Teezo’s modern twist on the signature cocktail includes special ingredients and unique garnishes, and the holiday-themed cocktail kit comes with a complimentary roll of the exclusive wrapping paper.
Ashley L. Fouyolle expresses her excitement about the project, stating, “Partnering with Grand Marnier on this project was a great experience. I hope our shared love of hip-hop and the holidays shine through in the product. We’re excited to bring this special gift to consumers — because one thing that makes wrapping gifts that much easier is enjoying a delicious cocktail.”
In celebration of the holidays and hip-hop’s 50th anniversary, Teezo Touchdown stars in “(w)rap” video content released across his and Grand Marnier’s social channels. In the video, he shares insights into his musical journey, memorable industry encounters, and plans for the future, all while wrapping bottles of Grand Marnier and uncovering clever music accessories. Teezo, known for blending unexpected elements and experimenting with diverse musical flavors, also offers tips on creating an elevated holiday ambiance for family and friends.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Teezo comments, “Grand Marnier’s concept of Grand Encounter speaks to me on many levels. With hip-hop, it’s about bringing together the unexpected to create one-of-a-kind sounds. With the holidays, it’s about creating a unique and elevated experience for my friends and family – through style, food, and cocktails.”
Not just limited to celebrations, Grand Marnier is contributing to The Hip Hop Museum, set to open in the Bronx in 2025. As the first-ever museum dedicated to preserving hip-hop’s founding legacy, it will receive support from Grand Marnier for research, curation of exhibits and collections, acquisition of artifacts, memorabilia, historical items, events, exhibitions, and engagement with experts and scholars in the field. Andrea Sengara states, “Grand Marnier is proud to be among The Hip Hop Museum’s inaugural donors, establishing an authentic partnership with the museum and its profound mission.”
The “(W)rapping Paper” Program not only celebrates the intersection of music and culture but also embraces the spirit of reinvention ingrained in hip-hop. This holiday season, raise a toast to life’s Grand Encounters with the exclusive Grand Margarita holiday cocktail kit, available exclusively on Cocktail Courier.
