Après-Ski, Reimagined: Nike and Jacquemus Blur the Line Between Sport and Style

By Luke Moreau
Nike and Jacquemus are expanding their ongoing creative dialogue into new terrain—quite literally. With an alpine-ready après-ski collection, Nike and Jacquemus merge technical ski performance with understated luxury, delivering a refined take on modern mountain dressing that feels as intentional off the slopes as it does on them.
Designed for real alpine conditions, the 18-piece collection reframes luxury skiwear through the lens of functionality. Triple-layer GORE-TEX protection anchors the lineup, paired with thoughtful layering systems and a minimalist palette that resists excess. Rather than leaning into loud performance aesthetics, the collaboration opts for restraint—clean silhouettes, precise tailoring, and subtle branding that allows construction and material choice to speak first.
For Simon Porte Jacquemus, the mountains are personal terrain. “I have always been a fan of skiing. It’s my favorite sport, and it’s been my favorite winter getaway since I was young,” said Simon Porte Jacquemus. “Ski attire has always fascinated me, and I’m a big collector of vintage ’80s skiwear. This collection with Nike is an opportunity for me to bring a new fashion story to our collaboration and to the ski community, which is a first for me.” That nostalgia quietly informs the collection—not as retro pastiche, but as a modern reinterpretation of performance silhouettes made elegant through proportion and detail.
At the core is a two-in-one GORE-TEX jacket system engineered for adaptability. The waterproof outer shell features a streamlined, tailored fit, while the zip-in bomber delivers Primaloft insulation for warmth without bulk. Subtle co-branding appears with restraint: a Swoosh on the chest, Jacquemus detailing across the shoulders—never overpowering, always deliberate. The design acknowledges that skiwear today must transition seamlessly from lift to lodge.

A second women’s jacket reworks the same protective materials into a silhouette pulled directly from Jacquemus’ ready-to-wear language, blurring the boundary between performance gear and fashion outerwear. The coordinating GORE-TEX pants continue that philosophy, equipped with removable jacquard straps and signature J-shaped belt loops. These are not ornamental details; they’re functional decisions that reflect how people layer, move, and live on the mountain.
With this alpine chapter, Nike and Jacquemus aren’t chasing spectacle. They’re refining codes—proving that high-performance skiwear can exist within a quiet luxury framework, where innovation, comfort, and style meet at elevation. For the slopes and beyond, this is skiwear designed to last longer than the season.
