Lucid Air Goes Full Android: Wireless Auto Integration Arrives

By Brian k. Neal
Lucid Motors is bringing its sleek electric dream machine into tighter sync with your digital life. With its latest software update—Lucid OS 2.7.0—the California-based EV innovator is finally delivering one of the most requested features from its driver community: Android Auto.
Owners of the ultra-luxurious, award-winning Lucid Air can now enjoy full Android Auto integration—either wired via USB or wirelessly for devices running Android 11 or newer. The update is being delivered over-the-air, meaning no service visit is required to unlock this new level of smartphone connectivity.
Once activated, the Android Auto experience is displayed seamlessly across Lucid’s signature 34-inch Glass Cockpit interface. From Google Maps to Spotify to your most-used messaging apps, Android Auto brings a familiar and fluid ecosystem to the elegant, high-tech interior Lucid drivers already know and love.
“Android Auto is one of the most requested features by Lucid owners, and we are delighted to announce that we have begun rolling out a software update to add this capability,” said Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Head of Software Engineering at Lucid. “Bringing this to the expansive Glass Cockpit is yet another way we’re enhancing comfort, control, and connection behind the wheel.”
To use Android Auto, you’ll need a phone with Android 9.0 or higher, a data plan, and—if not connecting wirelessly—a compatible USB cable.
This update might seem like a catch-up move, but for a brand known for crafting the future of mobility, it’s one more step toward a driving experience that is as intelligent as it is luxurious. The Lucid Air continues to blur the lines between automotive performance, tech innovation, and effortless design.
