Wu-Tang’s Rise of the Deceiver Is a New Era of Hip-Hop Gaming

Wu-Tang Clan just made Summer Game Fest a little louder. Brass Lion Entertainment has revealed Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver, a four-player co-op action RPG drenched in anime style, Afro-surrealist storytelling, and legendary hip-hop spirit.

Set in a mystic version of Shaolin, the game throws players into the frontline of a supernatural war against an ominous force known only as the Deceiver. More than just a hack-and-slash, Rise of the Deceiver looks to blur the lines between music, mythology, and movement—with a soundtrack that blends Wu-Tang classics and new heat from Just Blaze.

The game originates from Angel of Dust, an upcoming horror film co-created by Ghostface Killah and RZA. Now, that cinematic world expands into gaming, pulling players deeper into its eerie, stylized narrative.

“Creating Angel of Dust has been an incredible journey,” Ghostface Killah shared in a press statement. “Bringing the story to life through film was just the beginning. Now, with the development of the video game, we are immersing fans even deeper into this supernatural thriller universe. It’s about blending music, storytelling, and interactive experience. I can’t wait for fans to step into the darkness and discover what lies beneath.”

Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver marks the group’s second foray into gaming—the first being 1999’s cult-classic Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style. But this new venture aims higher, built with modern sensibilities, creative grit, and the same revolutionary energy that’s defined the Clan since day one.

No release date yet, but when it lands on PC and consoles, one thing’s certain: Wu-Tang is for the children—and the gamers, too.
