Harrison Ford Embarks on a Whisky Adventure in Glenmorangie’s New Campaign

BY Nino Studemire

Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has launched a captivating new campaign starring Hollywood legend Harrison Ford. Best known for his iconic roles in Star Wars and, more recently, the acclaimed series Shrinking, Ford brings his signature wit and dry humor to a series of cinematic short films directed by actor and filmmaker Joel Edgerton.

Titled Once Upon a Time in Scotland, the campaign follows Ford as he immerses himself in the world of whisky-making, journeying to Glenmorangie’s Highland home to explore the craftsmanship behind every bottle. Reflecting on his time in Scotland, Ford shared, “I had the best time. I hadn’t anticipated what it would feel like to be there, but when you arrive, you just say goodbye to wherever you were—because you’re in Scotland.”

The campaign embraces an unscripted, authentic style, capturing Ford experiencing the richness of Scottish culture firsthand. From perfecting local pronunciations to donning kilts and sharing a dram with the locals, the actor fully embraces the charm of the Highlands. “It was a strong idea, and we stuck to it,” Ford explained. “We had the freedom to explore, which is rare in this industry. My father worked in advertising, so I know how bureaucratic it can be. Glenmorangie trusted us to have fun, and I think that made all the difference.”

Filmed at the historic Glenmorangie distillery in Tain—where the brand has crafted whisky for over 180 years—the campaign also showcases the breathtaking scenery of Ardross Castle and the rugged beauty of Loch Glass. Ford is joined by Glenmorangie’s real-life distillery team, who stepped into the spotlight for the first time under his guidance. Meanwhile, the brand’s signature whiskies, Glenmorangie Original 12 Years Old and Glenmorangie Infinita 18 Years Old, take center stage.

Reflecting on the experience, Ford praised the distillery team, saying, “They were all great. It’s more fun to see the texture and imperfection of things rather than everything being glossy and smooth. Every moment of this journey was filled with unanticipated joys.”

With Once Upon a Time in Scotland, Glenmorangie blends storytelling, humor, and tradition, offering whisky lovers a charming and unexpected glimpse into the heart of the Highlands—through the eyes of one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars.
