Insta360 Elevates Action Photography with the New Ace Pro 2, Co-Engineered with Leica
By DaMarko Webster
Insta360 has launched the Ace Pro 2, an enhanced follow-up to its acclaimed action camera, this time boasting advanced upgrades through its ongoing partnership with Leica. Building on last year’s model, the Ace Pro 2 combines powerful new features and hardware advancements, delivering what Insta360 describes as “serious performance upgrades.”
The camera’s heart is a new 1/1.3” 8K sensor capable of capturing images with 13.5 stops of dynamic range, making it ideal for challenging lighting scenarios. Central to its imaging capabilities is the Leica Summarit lens, with a wide 157-degree field of view, which promises the high-quality optics Leica is known for, setting the Ace Pro 2 apart from competitors in its class.
One of the standout innovations in the Ace Pro 2 is its dual-chip design, a rarity in action cameras. This design includes the Pro Imaging Chip, dedicated to high-grade image processing and noise reduction, and a 5nm AI Chip that enhances overall performance, especially under challenging shooting conditions. This setup enables demanding video options like 4K at 120fps slow-motion or 4K at 60fps with Active HDR, giving creators more flexibility and power than ever.
Additionally, Insta360 has introduced new accessories that improve usability in rugged environments. The upgraded Wind Guard minimizes noise from external factors, and a new magnetic Lens Guard can be easily removed or attached, adding extra protection for the lens. Battery performance also receives a boost with an 1800mAh battery, coupled with an Endurance Mode that extends runtime by up to 50% at 4K 30fps.
Broader compatibility also positions the Ace Pro 2 as a versatile tool for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. With support for popular sports platforms such as Garmin, Apple, and COROS, users can seamlessly integrate their data and manage files across devices through the Insta360 app.
“Our goal was to refine and enhance the groundbreaking features of the original Insta360 Ace Pro to deliver an unparalleled experience,” said JK Liu, founder of Insta360. “We are confident these upgrades establish a new industry standard. Not only do they bring significant advances in AI, they empower creators to capture what was always impossible with other action cameras, opening the door to unprecedented creative potential.”
With these updates, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 aims to redefine what creators can achieve with an action camera, setting a high bar for both performance and creativity in the field.
