In a groundbreaking move, Feldspar has unveiled its latest innovation: an advanced performance running track equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and camera-based methods to measure athletes’ movements with unprecedented precision. This cutting-edge technology captures real-time data through athletes’ footsteps and strides, promising to revolutionize the analysis of running performance.

The new track, a product of Feldspar’s next-generation modular sports flooring and tracking software, incorporates patent-pending technologies and cutting-edge materials. This design offers a novel approach to energy return and conversion, enabling athletes to achieve faster running speeds than ever before, thus pushing the boundaries of human performance.

This technology provides complex and historically elusive data, such as stride length, acceleration rate, and maximum velocity, all in real-time. The potential impact on live sports events is immense, offering a revolutionary spectator experience and attracting new enthusiasts who value innovative, visually captivating, and tech-driven sports entertainment.

To further enhance performance, Feldspar will integrate an AI-powered data analytics tool and sports tracking software. This tool aims to redefine professional coaching and optimize athlete training by adjusting competition strategies and identifying potential injury areas based on detailed individual data and in-depth athlete profiles.

“While we have seen significant innovations in running shoes, apparel, and training methods recently, it’s incredible that the modern synthetic running track itself has remained largely unchanged since the 1968 Summer Olympics,” said Alvina Chen, Founder and CEO of Feldspar.

Chen continued, “There is a huge opportunity in revolutionizing this sport. By digitizing the running track, Feldspar is not only providing new avenues for athlete development and pushing the boundaries of human performance but also moving athletics towards a new era of exhilarating, high-energy live international events, similar to what we see in other sports, like football and motorsports.”

Chen added, “Our ambition with our next-generation running track is to set a new benchmark for athlete performance and fan engagement for future world competitions, including the Olympic Games, and beyond.”

Feldspar is collaborating with the UK’s top engineers, industrial designers, and data scientists to develop the high-performance, premium running track prototype, with real-time testing set to begin later this year. Production of the flooring solution is expected to commence in 2025.

Founded by former professional track runner Alvina Chen, Feldspar’s inspiration to reinvent the running track came during her international racing career, driving her to lead the charge in transforming the future of athletics.
