Tommy Hilfiger, Mercedes-AMG F1, and Artist Clarence Ruth Collaborate on Racing-Inspired Capsule Collection

By Nash Astor

Tommy Hilfiger has long been a fervent supporter of Formula 1, and his latest venture into the racing world is a testament to his passion. In a limited-edition collaboration capsule, Hilfiger partners with Mercedes-AMG F1 and artist Clarence Ruth to create a collection that melds Ruth’s distinct take on the classic Tommy Hilfiger all-American, preppy style with the dynamic flair of F1 drivers and enthusiasts.

The collection, tailored for sports fans, features essential wardrobe pieces such as varsity jackets and jerseys, each infused with a unique Tommy Hilfiger twist. The varsity jackets, offered in two styles, boast bold color-blocking and asymmetrical designs, adding a contemporary edge. The capsule also includes a variety of soccer jerseys, each in different color combinations and featuring various drivers’ racing numbers. Additionally, an ice hockey jersey, designed with long sleeves for cooler weather, makes a stylish appearance.

Beyond the standout jerseys and varsity jackets, the collection comprises long-sleeved shirts, chinos, and a polo shirt. A notable piece is a t-shirt printed with a care label design, incorporating the iconic Tommy Hilfiger logo alongside the Mercedes emblem and car dashboard-inspired symbols. All tops and jackets in this collection prominently display the logos of Tommy Hilfiger, Mercedes-AMG F1, and Cotte D’Armes, Ruth’s fashion label, ensuring each brand’s identity is showcased.

“Designing this collection challenged me to think more creatively and step outside my comfort zone,” says Clarence Ruth. “I’m accustomed to designing tailored pieces, so integrating sports elements required a different approach. Collaborating with the Tommy Hilfiger and Mercedes-AMG F1 teams, choosing colors, and finalizing designs has been an incredible journey. I feel truly blessed.”

The Tommy X Mercedes-AMG F1 X Clarence Ruth collection is now available on the Tommy Hilfiger and Mercedes-AMG F1 websites, as well as in select Tommy Hilfiger stores.
